Jenya is a very good, creative, and professional hair and makeup stylist. She keeps in mind the color of my competition dress, suggests the best hairstyle/make-up that accentuates my face shape, and always finishes on time with enough time for me to warm up. She even comes check in on the hairdo during competition to make sure it stays in place. You also quickly learn that she enjoys making a personal connection. She cares about my day job and shares what she cares about in her life. She has a lot more to offer than just a stylist. Her passion for dance and creative work is inspiring. Eugenia Chaplin is simply a brilliant hair and makeup artist for dance competitions. She goes out of her way to make sure she gives you just the hair style and makeup look you want. Eugenia has done my hair and makeup off and on for over two years. She requests a picture of how I want to look and she produces just what I asked for. Two years ago I wanted a Cinderella look at Ohio Star Ball. I showed her a picture of a high bun. She achieved the princess look I was going for and topped it off by placing a crown around the high bun. She has done my hair low with a crimped braided piece into the low bun in back. She has also done side sweeps and flower like pieces in my hair. Through it all the hair is clean, neat and precise and is precisely how I wanted it.
Even though she always uses two hairpieces for the creative styles she creates, the extensions are easy for me to take out after I have danced. When you are tired and want to go to sleep that is a big help. And oh my, her makeup is absolutely gorgeous. The foundation she uses is luminescent. Her blush is always so blended. She knows that I like plenty of white around my eyes to accentuate them. At a recent comp, she asked if she could use her own eye lashes instead of the ones I always supply, and I have to admit, I liked her thicker, fuller lashes better than the ones I have used for years. She puts them on so well too.
They were perfectly distributed, comfortable and never moved. She has also bought trays of lipstick for me so that I could replenish with the same color that she put on.
Engenia's prices are also fair and appropriate and she schedules her clients so that she runs on time and you are out in plenty of time before you dance. It is hard for one person to be efficient, pleasant and yet also a creative hair stylist and makeup artist, but that is exactly what Eugenia Chaplin is and I recommend her highly.
